Best of Both Worlds
As a Canadian, here we use both systems imperial and metric quite frequently. For instance, in cooking ingredients, liquids, or small crafts we use metric. But for everyday measurements in the trades, for cooking temperatures, and for the vast amount of distances or heights, we almost always use imperial to utilize the fractions without a calculator.
However, with the dozenal system, the metric system could become useful in everyday measurements as the imperial system already is.

The top tape is divided into Edo (1/10).
The bottom tape is divided into Edo fourths (1/14).
Both tapes have dozenal inches on the top half and dozenal centimetres on the bottom half.

ImperialDecimal Imperial measurements come out equal to dozenal.
This is because the decimal system uses the number 12 (twelve) which translates to 10 (do). |
